The Telephone Helplines Association (THA) is recognised as the main source of specialist information relating to the setting up and running of non-profit helplines in the UK and Ireland. We hold detailed information on over 1,100 services across the UK and internationally. We are the lead provider of advice, consultancy and training on matters relating to the provision of quality helpline services for the voluntary and statutory sectors. Our 500 plus members include most of the national helpline services such as Samaritans, Shelterline, ChildLine and Cancerbackup as well as many local and regional services. Between them our members handle over 22 million calls per year. The THA Quality Standard is the only quality system specifically designed for use by non-profit telephone helplines.
